Ever since I can remember, I have always been troubled and fascinated by homelessness, and in Glasgow there is a huge and growing homeless population. For a while I have been considering starting this project, but debated myself internally regarding my own motives, moral questions, politics and so on. I finally concluded that my reason for wanting to do this is simply to highlight the issue and hopefully bring about more compassion for homeless people. There is a lot of politics and conversation around homelessness, some people believing that there is help if they want it, others believe that some people like being homeless and don't want help, and others question those born elsewhere. I do not care to make any statement about the political aspects, or even offer any opinion as to the individual person's story; newspapers sometimes run stories about homelessness but newspapers don't last long and news has an even shorter life in today's disposable information age. I simply want to document these people, to say here they are and here is their story in their words. You can ignore it, you can disagree, or you can feel compassionate about other human beings living this life. In any case, these people are here, they are alive.
